Fellowships of Globalink Graduate for Master's and PhD program 2013
Globalink Graduate Fellowships is the result of cooperation between the MITACS Globalinks and, scholarship program is fully funded by the University of British Columbia. This program is for students who want to take a master's degree or doctorate in particular in the area of Canada that is for students from India, China, Brazil and Mexico. Scholarship provides $ 35,000 / year for two years of the study period. These scholarships are for research-based masters or doctoral applicants at UBC which opened in January, May and September 2013.

These
scholarships can be taken to study in Canada.
Eligibility:
Eligible students are top undergraduate students who have completed the Mitacs Globalink summer research program. The Globalink program currently accepts students from India, China, Brazil, and Mexico.
Applicants will be pursuing research-based Master’s or PhD studies at UBC
starting in January 2013, May 2013, or September 2013. Applicants need to be
registered with Mitacs for the Global ink Fellowship competition.
These
scholarships are open and apply for International Students from India, China,
Brazil, and Mexico.
Description
of these scholarships:
In collaboration with Mitacs, UBC has created the Globalink Graduate Fellowships for Globalink alumni students who wish to pursue a
research Master's or PhD program at UBC. UBC will fund up to six students per
year, depending on availability of funding from Mitacs, the quality of the
students, and their fit with their prospective graduate programs.
This scholarship
covers the cost of: The fellowship provides $35,000 per year for two years,
comprised of:
- $10,000 stipend from UBC
- $10,000 stipend from Minacs
- $15,000 from graduate program / research supervisor in the form of research assistantships, teaching assistantships, GSI award funding or any combination thereof
Scholarship
criteria: Nominations will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Academic excellence (50% for Master’s, 30% for Doctoral)
- Research Ability / Potential (30% for Master’s, 50% for Doctoral)
- Communication, interpersonal and leadership (20% Master’s/Doctoral)
Application
Procedures:
Students
apply directly to graduate programs. Students should contact their prospective
graduate program for details about the internal deadline and application
procedures.
Nomination
Procedures:
Each
graduate program can submit a maximum of three nominations to the Faculty of
Graduate Studies. Nominations from the graduate program must be ranked.
Each
complete nomination will include:
1. Nomination letter from graduate program
with:
- Confirmation and description of
financial commitment from
graduate program and/or supervisor
graduate program and/or supervisor
- Explanation of why the student is a
good fit for the graduate program

- Indication of nominee's rank within
group forwarded by graduate program
2. Copies of transcripts from the nominee's
application for admission
3. Research proposal (maximum one page,
including references)
4. Copies of two letters of reference from the
nominee's application
