The University of Glasgow will award a total of 30 postgraduate scholarships worth £5,000 across each of the 4 Colleges. The scholarships will be awarded as a tuition fee discount and are for students who are resident in the following countries: Brazil India Japan Kenya Malaysia Egypt Pakistan Taiwan Thailand USA A maximum of 5 scholarships are available per country and all clinical courses are excluded.

Doctoral Grant in Biomedicine at Lund University in Sweden 2012

PhD grants in the field of Biomedicine, specialisation Stem Cell Biology

          Students with basic eligibility for third-cycle studies are those who – have completed a second-cycle degree – have completed courses of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are from second-cycle courses, or – have acquired largely equivalent knowledge in some other way, in Sweden or abroad.

Scholarship Description :

          The aim of this project will be to study how the circadian rhythm genes Hlf, Dbp and Tef influence hematopoietic stem cell function during homeostasis, and tissue regeneration. Knockout mouse models for Hlf, Tef and Dbp will be studied functionally using stem cell assays in vivo and in vitro, as well as mechanistically through molecular profiling approaches.
